It is a region of green hills in central Mexico, where time seems to have stopped in the last century. Combining extensive grassland and tropical forest, with some traditional crops on high: coffee, cocoa, tangerines, avocados, sugar cane and bananas.
Everywhere, livestock dominates, but there remains a traditional gold mining activity by several hundred families. These traditional miners use archaic procedures, and different types of mills by the amount and richness of its mineral. The gold jewelers work completely by hand, lost wax, sometimes filigree or hammered, and fabrics found in some pre-Columbian graves. The finish is impressive, despite the use of rustic methods.
